PocketEar is a portable hand held noise monitoring unit that easily fits in a pocket, purse, briefcase, toolbox or simply hangs around one's neck on the enclosed safety strap.
There are 3 decibel settings for PocketEar - 65, 85 and 105 Dba. When the user thinks that noise is approaching one of these levels, they simply press on the PocketEar which then quietly but authoritatively (plus/minus one decibel) tells them whether their current noise environment is a problem.
Should noise exceed the level of safety, high fidelity filtered earplugs can be taken from inside the Pocket and worn to effectively reduce noise by 17 decibels. These hand held units are attractively priced for many applications (e.g., workers on shop floors, safety directors checking noise levels around the factory, teachers educating students about noise levels in the daily environment).
